INITIAL CONTRACT FOR ONE YEAR

The Canal Communities Regional Addiction Service (CCRAS) is a Company
Limited by Guarantee (CLG) with charitable status and overseen by a
voluntary Board. It is tasked by the Canal Communities Local Drug and
Alcohol Task Force (CCLDATF) with implementing a range of initiatives
to address and respond to substance misuse and its causes and
consequences within the Canal Communities area of Dublin, which
consists of Bluebell, Inchicore, and Rialto.

CCRAS is now seeking interested candidates for the role of TEAM LEADER

LOCATION: Oblate Hall, Inchicore, Dublin 8

CONTRACT: Initially for one year, with a probationary period of six
months. The contract will be extended subject to the continuation of
funding.

SALARY: € *, * per year
for a *-hour week. This is the first point on
the HSE Grade VI Clerical pay-scale; the appointment may be made at a
higher point on the scale for a candidate of exceptional experience or
skills.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the general direction of the Task Force Co-ordinator, (a) to
line-manage the CCRAS staff team in order to assist staff in
implementing the annual work-plans of the organisation to the best of
their ability, (b) to support the work of the Task Force’s Alcohol
Sub-group, and (c) to generally support the implementation of the Task
Force’s strategy.

CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

* At least four years’ experience in the field of addiction, youth
work, community development or a related field 
* A qualification at Level 7 or higher in community work, addiction
studies, social sciences or another relevant discipline 
* Excellent inter-personal skills in both group and one-to-one
settings 
* Excellent group facilitation skills 
* At least two years’ experience in a staff management or
supervision role, whether paid or voluntary 
* Understanding and knowledge of planning, monitoring, and
evaluation frameworks, and experience in using them 
* A good knowledge of issues related to addiction and substance
misuse 
* A good understanding and knowledge of the current national and
local policy context within which Drug and Alcohol Task Forces
operate, and of a Task Force’s role within the community 
* A strong commitment to inter-agency work, and practical experience
of such work
* Excellent report-writing and IT skills 

DESIRABLE

* An understanding of the principles of community development and a
commitment to their implementation 
* Commitment to community participation in the design, delivery and
evaluation of services
* Knowledge of the Canal Communities area
